About the Programme

LokNeeti programme was launched on the 73rd Republic Day of India i.e. 26th of January 2022 by the Indian School of Public Policy. The LokNeeti programme of ISPP is designed to democratise public policy discourse in India. Using a hybrid model of training, LokNeeti offers courses that focus on Data Analysis, Project Monitoring & Impact Evaluation, Design Thinking and Behaviour Change. The 4-month programme is designed to engage policy aspirants from around the country in an attempt to impart core public policy education in English. The programme is open for individuals of all ages. No minimum work-experience is required. The only requirement is for the participant to have completed a Bachelor’s degree before enrollment.

Is there an age limit for applying for the LokNeeti programme?

There is no minimum age limit for applying for the LokNeeti programme. We encourage everyone with an interest in Public Policy and who wants to pursue a part-time programme.

Do I need to have work experience to join this programme?

No, you do not need to have work experience to join this programme.

What is the minimum eligibility required for this programme?

The minimum eligibility required for this programme is a bachelor's degree in any discipline.

What is the structure of the curriculum?

The programme is conducted over 16 weeks in a hybrid format consisting of 2 terms. In the first term, the participants will be introduced to Design Thinking, Data Analysis and Management, and Economics and Politics of Policy. The second term covers courses in Behaviour Change, Governance and Public Administration, and Project Monitoring and Impact Evaluation. The workshops are divided evenly across terms. Through both the terms, participants will work on a Practicum project which is presented to a faculty committee at the end of the programme.

How are the classes conducted?

The classes are conducted in a hybrid manner over 16 weeks. The online classes are conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7 to 8:30 pm. During the programme, the entire cohort is invited to the ISPP campus twice. First, you will be invited around the 4th week for 3 days of in-person classes over Friday to Sunday. Then they are also invited once again at the end of the programme during the 16th week for 3 days of in-person classes and the graduation ceremony over Friday to Sunday.

What kind of placement support is provided?

Unfortunately, no placement services are offered as part of the programme.

Are there networking opportunities?

As a LokNeeti participant, you will get a wide range of opportunities to network through lectures organised as part of the programme. After graduation, you will also be invited to guest lectures and other sessions as an ISPP alumni.

Is financial aid available?

The original cost of the programme is ₹1,32,000. However, ISPP is a non-profit institution and is committed to democratising public policy. Hence, a flat discount of 54% is offered to all applicants. In addition, you can get an additional 10% discount by making the full payment in one go before 30 September.
